A Beginner's Guide to Buddhism

Welcome to 'A Beginner's Guide to Buddhism', my 62-page book which will introduce you to Buddhism, and help set you on your path to a meaningful life. As His Holiness, the XIV Dalai Lama said,

“Don’t use Buddhism to become a Buddhist. Use Buddhism to become better at whatever else in your life you are doing already.”

A Beginner's Guide to Buddhism

Buddhism has its root in the word 'budhi', meaning 'to awaken'. Though some term it a religion, it goes way beyond that, being more than a 'way of life', or philosophy.

In my book, 'A Beginner's Guide to Buddhism: Your Path to a Meaningful Life', you will learn more about this from me, a lifelong practitioner of Buddhism.

I draw on my own life experiences, as well as those of my father, who's been an ordained Buddhist monk for well over a decade; and I explain in an easy to follow and understand manner about life, about living happy, and the essentials to forge your path to a meaningful life.

  • Chapter 1 - Getting Ready for Meditation: covers the preparation for meditation, some thoughts on the clothing, the positions to adopt, as well as the key components you need to consider to get the best out of your practice.
  • Chapter 2 - Basic Knowledge about Meditation: covers concentration and meditation (the 2 are different). Many are unaware of this, and it’s essential to know the difference to achieve the results that you aim for.
  • Chapter 3 - How to Overcome Obstacles in Meditation: shows that, when your meditation is successful, the rewards can and will be life-changing, but there are a number of obstacles you will need to overcome to achieve this success.
  • Chapter 4 - Concentration and Meditation Practices: here you will learn about meditation practices: mindfulness of breathing; right concentration; tranquility meditation; insight meditation; and, finally, your daily meditation practices.

Whatever your level of meditation, my book will help you. With ‘A Beginner’s Guide to Meditation’, you can read and see how I first started with meditation, and how it has become such an important part of my life.
